On the Premier League Matchday 17, Shakhtar will take on Olimpik. We bring you the encounter preview.

Lviv will be receiving two Donetsk-based teams who sit in the second and sixth spots in the standings, respectively. In the last round, Shakhtar drew 2-2 with Metalist and lost points. Olimpik were close to repeating their first-round success against Dynamo. To differ to the previous round, when the Donetsk side managed to secure a 0-0 draw, in the last round Kyiv managed to score the winning goal in injury time. The charges of Roman Sanzhar have long had the giant-killer reputation and they will once again fight for the positive result. At the same time, Shakhtar just must win.

At the same time, Bernard at that time just began training with the main group.

Beating Olimpik 5-0 in the first round, Shakhtar claimed their 150th major victory in the Ukrainian League. The foundation was laid already in the 17th minute, when Kryvtsov fired home Srna’s cross. Shortly afterwards, Taison notched up the second goal, hammering Darijo’s delivery into the back of the net. 0-2 score in favour of Shakhtar survived until the break, immediately after which Hladkyi converted a scoring chance to seal the win. Until the final whistle Shakhtar were bossing it on the pitch, netting two more goals – those by Wellington and Stepanenko.
