FC Shakhtar Museum is the biggest sports and interactive museum in Ukraine. In 2012, it was shortlisted among Europe’s top new 45 museums nominated for the prestigious European Museum of the Year Award 2012.

Colourful exhibition of the museum reflects in detail all stages in the development of Donetsk-based team - from an outfit representing the mining region to the club of European level. The museum’s five historic rooms showcase the team’s trophies, the players and coaches’ personal awards, the player kits of different periods, rare historical documents and photographs. The centrepiece of the museum is the UEFA Cup won by the Pitmen back in May 2009, and a 23-metre long Wall of Fame featuring alongside metal-cast palmprints and footprints of the iconic players and coaches of Shakhtar.

Through the use of the state-of-the-art entertainment technology, the museum visitors experience a fascinating show on the only-in-Ukraine foggy screen. In the playing areas, you can enjoy PlayStation games and play interactive football. We advise those wishing to experience the atmosphere of the renowned ‘fifth stand’ (as they used to call the slag heap near Shakhtar Central Stadium back in the 1950-60s) to visit a cosy cinema hall, located right there. Matches of the past, films about the team’s performance in past seasons and the stadium construction, celebratory performances, electronic archive, video tutorials and lectures, meetings with FC Shakhtar legends, children's birthday parties - this is an incomplete list of the exclusive services available at FC Shakhtar Museum.

History rooms
The museum's five rooms showcase a rich seam of the Pitmen's history for the visitors to mine. The awards and trophies won by the squad, the unique historical records and photos are on display there. Not only professional guides, but the living legends themselves, who actually made the history of FC Shakhtar, also act as the tour guides on special days.

Wall of Fame
A 23-metre long Wall of Fame occupies a central position in the museum. The genuine palmprints and footprints of the legendary footballers and coaches of FC Shakhtar, which are made from molten metal cast in plaster moulds, are placed alongside the Wall of Fame. The Wall itself encompasses photos and video footage capturing every significant moment in the club history and featuring its most outstanding players and coaches.

Club trophies
The museum displays an array of the squad's most important Cup trophies: the USSR Cup, the original 'Together with the team' cup (one of big-time football prizes that were formerly awarded to teams for high attendance at their matches, Shakhtar won it in 1982, 1983, 1986, 1987 and in 1988), the Ukrainian Premier League Cups (the 1997 Cup of Ukraine, The Ukrainian Premier League Cup won in 2005, 2006, 2008 and 2010, the 2010 Super Cup of Ukraine).

UEFA Cup
The UEFA Cup that the Pitmen won back in May 2009, in its turn won its permanent place in the club museum and in the hearts of the nation. Henceforth, every visitor can have a picture with Shakhtar's most important trophy taken as a meaningful memento. It is on display in the last (fifth) history room dedicated to the new history of the Orange & Black squad.

Entertainment
The facility also features a homely 25-seater cinema hall accommodating an improvised 'fifth stand' (that's how they used to call the slag heap near the Central Stadium Shakhtar in the fifties and sixties), a room for children and a videogame room.
