Shakhtar trained with Antalyaspor

Final training session in Antalya before returning to Donetsk was held by Shakhtar on the field of Mardan Sports Complex.

Local Antalyaspor arrived here almost simultaneously with the Pitmen. Two teams were divided in two halves of the field and began to train. After the warm-up, the Donetsk team spent most of the time working with the ball. Antalyaspor also played smalls-sided games before players began to practice shots on goal.

In order to diversify the lesson and give it a competitive spirit, the team decided to hold the match consisting of two halves of 45 minutes. Shakhtar stayed on the field with the following squad: Kanibolotskiy, Kobin, Kryvtsov, Volovyk, Ismaily, Fernando, Hrechyshkin, Wellington, Teixeira, Costa Ferreyra.

The events were watched from the stands by a cohesive group of FC Shakhtar employees and those of Donbass Arena. So, Shakhtar, as in the game against Steaua, felt the fans’ fans. Antalyaspor’s fans also did not miss the opportunity to watch their team’s training session and energetically rooted for their side.

Shakhtar took the lead in the seventh minute. Ferreyra took a great headed shot following an Ismaily cross from the left, but Antalyaspor’s goalkeeper made a save. However, Wellington seized on the rebound to make it 1-0. During the first 45 minutes, Costa could have scored twice from the free-kick, but the opposing keeper cleared the danger.

During the pause between halves, Kryvtsov, Ismaily, Fernando, Costa, Wellington and Ferreyra were replaced by Chygrynskiy, Ilsinho, Fred, Taison, Shynder and Luiz Adriano. The flow of the game remained the same. The Donetsk side dominated proceedings and coped well with Antalyaspor’s counterattacks. Ilsinho operated at right back, Kobin moved to the left. Fred played in the middle of the pitch both creating and winning the ball back.

Seven minutes before the end of the match, Luiz Adriano slotted home one of the crosses to double Shakhtar’s lead. Thus, the Pitmen won 2-0. Mykyta Krytov enjoyed considerable match practice after coming on after the second goal.

Straight after the stadium, Shakhtar headed for the Antalya airport to fly to Donetsk. On Monday, the team will have a day off.
