Shakhtar get used to Arena Lviv
Shakhtar have decided on the stadium for their home matches. It will be Arena Lviv.
It is easy to clarify why this venue was chosen. First of all, safety issues. Given the circumstances, the club focused exclusively on the list of cities in which the UEFA allows to hold matches.
In addition, it is considered that Arena Lviv is a great modern stadium, which isn’t used. Despite the fact that the arena did superbly at Euro 2012, after the continental championship almost nobody played there. Of course, it would be difficult to share the stadium with the club, for whom the arena is constant.
Among other things, the Champions League isn’t far off. Shakhtar also intend to hold them at the Arena Lviv. Of course, playing at a familiar stadium is always better.
And do not forget that after the victory over Dynamo in the Super Cup match Arena Lviv is in the list of lucky venues for Shakhtar.
After the Super Cup game, the Pitmen stayed in Lviv to prepare for the first match of the championship against Metalurh Zaporizhya. In the future, the Pitmen will be based and train in Kyiv, and travel to Lviv for home games.
