Darijo Srna: I believe in my team and our players
The Pitmen’s captain attended the pre-match press conference ahead of the Bayern game together with Mircea Lucescu. The journalists addressed Darijo their first questions.
- Darijo, considering your experience, probably there are not opponents, whom you fear. But still, the Bayern match-up is a special occasion even for you. What do you expect from this encounter? What kind of mood are you in?
- It is a very important match for Shakhtar. We play in the Champions League for the whole of Ukraine. But we have already faced big teams. So tomorrow I am looking forward to good football, good result. We have been preparing for almost two and a half months without official matches. We know a lot about Bayern. It's nice that tomorrow, in Lviv, we will face the best team of Europe now, who have a good coach. It will be out first game versus them. We’ll see... I think that Bayern are favourites in this tie. But we have two matches, the ball is round. And I believe in my team and our players.
- How many facts do you know about Bayern?
- Every fan knows Bayern. Because this team show good football, but in fact their new coach changed the game and style of the Munich side in one season. Our mood is good and positive. Tomorrow we will play for our club, for our fans, who are in a terrible situation. So we have extra motivation.
