Before match

In the starting line-up, the Pitmen’s attack was headed by Oleksandr Hladkyi. Marlos took to the pitch on the left flank of midfield, Costa – on the right, for whom today’s match was his 200 game for Shakhtar. Hoverla did not have any limitations regarding loaned players, so Vyachelav Groznyi fielded the optimum squad.

First half

Shakhtar needed 43 seconds to open the scoring: Rakitskiy raced down the left flank to deliver a cross into the penalty area for Hladkyi to head the ball into the net.  On 13 minutes, Marlos advanced through the centre to take a long range effort – the ball hit the goal post, Costa seized on the rebound to send the ball into the near corner. Hoverla tried to periodically organise counteraatacks, but most of them came to nothing. Shakhtar controlled the ball more, combined a lot and attacked. As a result, on 18 minutes, Costa delivered a cross into the penalty area from the flank for Hladkyi to make it 3-0. Just before the end of the half time, the hosts returned intrigue. Myakushko put Klebas through on goal, who made it 3-1 before the break.

Second half

The start of the second half saw Hoverla dominating proceedings. On 48 minutes, Myakushko found himself in a comfortable position to shoot goalwards – Pyatov made a save, but Khlebas arrived on the rebound to send the ball into the net. After six minutes, Myakushko was in the spotlight again: he beat two opponents to shoot goalwards from a tight angle – 3-3. The Pitmen did not agree with such a scenario. After a corner, Rakitskiy skipped past the defender to send the ball into the far corner of the net. Then Kovalenko, who came on as sub, put through Adriano on goal, and Luiz sent the ball into the corner of the net. After two minutes, the Pitmen again capitalised on their chance: Kovalenko drilled a cross from the left flank for Stepanenko to slot the ball in. In the end of the match Hoverla brought down Hladkyi inside the penalty area, and the referee awarded a penalty kick. Teixeira came up to take the spot kick and drove the ball in. 7-3 – the Pitmen got a big win in Uzhgorod.

We remind you that on 16 May the Pitmen will face Metalurh Donetsk.
