Volyn vs Shakhtar: players’ opinion

The Pitmen have reflected on the match in Lutsk.

Taison, Shakhtar’s midfielder:
- It is always difficult to play with Volyn. I remember our game with them last year, which ended 0-0 and made it more difficult for us to win the league title. Today the Lutsk side were the same team, but we managed to prove ourselves well, especially since we have a very important match coming up, and the match with Volyn was a good preparation for us. Yes, our key performers did not play today but Shakhtar are the team that can deliver even when there are some footballers do not play. Plus we had a good advantage: many tall footballers play for Volyn, but their pace is slower because of the height! In turn, Shakhtar have fast players: Teixeira, Marlos, Bernard, me... But in general,  my goal is the result of my work in trainings.

Yaroslav Rakytskyy, Shakhtar’s defender:
- The most important thing is that Shakhtar have claimed a big win today. We expected that today it would be a tough game. Because every meeting with them is very difficult. It should be noted that Volyn do not sit deep in defence like many teams in the matches with us, and they demonstrate good football. It's nice. As for Shakhtar, some players have left us. But it is great that those Ukrainians, who have joined the team, constantly give their all, prove their worth. They are doing good work! We are winning thanks to our character: three games - three wins. And so it will continue.

Eduardo, Shakhtar’s striker:
- My first goal since returning is memorable! But it is Bernard who deserves more credit: I felt that he would make a pass to me. During the past season, when I did not play for Shakhtar, Volyn have not changed. They are the team that are growing, but today we were better and could have scored a lot more. Now I'm happy and I want to congratulate the whole team on the victory. Every day I feel better! Hopefully, I will be able to show an even better performance, learn something new and help Shakhtar.
