Journey into history: Shakhtar versus debutants

In the current season, Olimpik Donetsk enjoy their first campaign in the Premier League. Therefore, we decided to dedicate our traditional journey into history to Shakhtar’s matches, which were played against debutants of the Ukrainian league.

By the way, only once the Pitmen’s game versus debutant ended in a draw – in 1996 there was registered a 1-1 draw with Vorskla. Only CSKA-Borisfen and Lviv managed to beat the Pitmen. Shakhtar won the rest of the matches, often with a big result.

The Pitmen netted two hat-tricks in the matches with debutants: 20 years ago Igor Petrov scored three goals against Prikarpatya, and Marian Savu in 2000 netted a hat-trick against Stal. There was registered one own goal. It was registered by Andriy Oksimets from Zakarpatya.
