Shakhtar’s striker, who is one of the best scorers in Shakhtar’s history, has talked to the correspondent of the site Terrikon.

On one hundred goals, history and shirts

- I am so happy! When I joined Shakhtar, I thought to leave a trace in the history of the club. I managed it. When the dream comes true, I always feel great joy. Of course, I know that 100 goals were scored by Starukhin, Sokolovskiy and Vorobey. History of the club is not an empty sound for us, Brazilians. For instance, Starukhin’s memorable shirt that I was given is hanging in my house in the honourable place. In the same place there soon will be the shirt presented to me by Mister after the match against Dynamo, in which I scored my hundredth goal. I think that I netted the most important goal in the UEFA Cup final against Werder. But this match is the most important of all in which I have ever taken part. I hope it happens again... I am working on improving my conversion of chances and hope that percentage will increase. I plan to continue scoring. I hope I will be able to score twice as more.

On relations with Lucescu

- I can say one thing: we have really good relations. I am very happy that I met such a mentor on my football path. I thank him for all that he has done for me and for what he has taught me. All I can do now at Shakhtar is the result of what Mister has given me.

Advices to compatriots

- To be patient. I needed that myself. For me the first stage of my career at Shakhtar was incredibly difficult, I could not score my first goal. I had to go through it, and then things worked out. My compatriots should do exactly the same during the period of adaptation: work hard. Sooner or later, the result will come.

On relations with team-mates

- As for non-Brazilians, I have the best relations with Kucher. He’s cool! It's really easy to be around with him, he always finds a necessary joke. He’s an excellent mate! In general, a good partner should be a true friend. And to have a sense of humour to make it easier to switch from football, to release tension in which we are constantly in.

On performance for Ukraine national team

- The Ukraine national team have grown tremendously; great players are called up. It would be nice to play with such a company. If possible and if there is an invitation, I will play without problems!

On criticism

- Criticism is not constantly heard. When you're successful and score goals, fans are behind you. When you have a string of bad luck, they are against you. Fans are the demanding and emotional people, their reaction should be taken, remembering it. I'm in a good period. I am very pleased and hope that it will last longer.

On life priorities

- I will never steal! If it is necessary to protect my family and nothing else remains, I can kill! The family are the main people in my life. The wife is the person without whom I would probably have not succeeded in football. When I score, she is happy more than anyone else, when I have bad days, she first says, ‘Do not worry, everything will be fine’. And it always happens this way!

On playing for another club

- I have not really thought about that so far. But I can say that after my spell with Shakhtar, I can find myself in any team, even in the biggest clubs. The level reached by Shakhtar has taught me a lot. Well, if we talk about the clubs that I like more than others, it will be, perhaps, Milan, Manchester United, Real Madrid.
