Olimpik vs Shakhtar: preview
On Matchday 4 of the Premier League, Kyiv will host the Donetsk derby. Debutants Olimpik will entertain Shakhtar. We bring you the preview of the game.
15 August, Kyiv, Bannikov stadium, 17:00.
Now Olimpik Donetsk will have to deal with serious tests. In three opening matches, Roman Sanjar’s team faced Chornomorets, Zorya and Dynamo – representatives of Ukraine in European competitions. Shakhtar are next. However, one should note that after a bad luck in Odesa, the debutants picked up… 4 points in two games! It clearly shows that Olimpik won’t be walk in the park for anyone in the current season.
Shakhtar have 9 points under their belt. Dnipro also got maximum points in three rounds. Mircea Lucescu’s team have to keep gathering momentum to follow the winning path.

Personnel
Defender Ivan Ordets won’t be able to help the Pitmen in the upcoming game, who was employed in every game of the current championship, - he was sent off in the game with Metalist and is serving suspension. However, it won’t prevent Mircea Lucescu from choosing centre defense duo. Besides, during open training session, Mister shed light on Douglas Costa and Alex Teixeira: Brazilians will play if they deserve that.

Shakhtar and Olimpik have not faced each other in the official games due to obvious reasons. Olimpik are absolute debutants of the Premier League. But the teams faced each other in the friendly encounter in March this year.
From first minutes, the Pitmen took the game and the ball under their control. They took the game to Olimpik’s half but it took some time for them to score: in some episodes the opposition goalkeeper made fine saves, and in other Olimpik’s defence did well to clear the danger.
Considering the character of a friendly game, the coaches made a number of subs. Ferreyra, who was replaced at half time, returned in middle of the second half to open the scoring. On 74 minutes, the Argentine received the ball before coolly beating the goalkeeper. Then, the Pitmen went on to extend their lead: Wellington fed Adriano, who skipped past the defender to send the ball into the far corner.
