From 8 to 27 January, the Pitmen will hold five matches in Brazil. Our website continues to talk about cities that the Pitmen will visit.

Mircea Lucescu’s charges will play their first match with Bahia in Salvador. In Portuguese, name of the city translates as Holy Savior of All Saints’ Bay. It was founded in 1549 on the hill, which is located at the entrance to the Bay of All Saints, this city was the first capital of Brazil.

Modern Salvador is located on two levels. The lower part of the metropolis, located at sea level, is a shopping center, and at the top are located government agencies, museums and churches.

For the majority of tourists, this town is associated with relaxation, spontaneity, feasts and religion. But, among other things, Salvador is the birthplace of Brazilian capoeira. A school of martial arts is here on every street! However, football is also incredibly popular. By the way, FC Bahia is a co-founder of the Salvador Thirteen Club - the organisation's most popular and award-winning Brazilian team. Salvador is home to FC Victoria, where former Shakhtar’s player Francelino Matuzalem started his career.
