Shakhtar in Brazil: 40 years of waiting
In the evening on January 15, Shakhtar held a training session at the stadium of Fonte Nova, where they are to take on the local Bahia tomorrow.
The Pitmen’s arrival in Salvador has caused a lot of stir in the city. Firstly, they have heard a lot about the team from Donetsk here. Secondly, it will be Bahia’s first encounter with a European club over the last 40 years! Not surprisingly, there is such hype I the city around the match. No less than 15,000 fans are expected to attend the game. Tickets have different price categories: the Ukrainian currency equivalent of UAH 100 to 1,500. Almost 50 media representatives have been accredited for the friendly game.
The meeting organizers are preparing a pre-match performance – choreography and a show by cheerleaders. On the match day, a recreation area will emerge around the stadium.
