Luiz Adriano: We'll fight to the bitter end!
Ahead of the cup meeting with Dnipro, Shakhtar forward answered the reporters' questions.
- Luiz, have you already made an analysis of the game against Dynamo?
- The day following the game, that is, yesterday, Mister discussed that meeting with us in training. He stressed that the game was really good and were a match for them. Unfortunately, we failed to win, even though we had some scoring opportunities.
- Given that Shakhtar might be out of the title race, are the team focused on winning the Cup at the moment?
- No, not just on the Cup. We have more domestic league games ahead. Who knows ... There will be other teams to play Dynamo - maybe they will be able to take points away from Dynamo. While we will fight to the bitter end! The most important thing for us now is to focus on winning and, of course, on the cup ties.
- Do you have enough time to recover after the meeting with Dynamo?
- Of course we do! We are strong physically. Plus yesterday we had a recovery course after Sunday's match. So, I think we are ready to face Dnipro.
- Luiz, can you explain the unsportsmanlike thing that happened in the match against Dynamo, when you hit Yarmolenko?
- There's nothing to explain - it was a game episode. It’s just because everyone’s blood was boiling, and I was hotheaded. Of course, I apologised to him later. We talked and shook hands.
- You are facing a match against another tough opponent. What to expect from meeting Dnipro? They have a Europa League game ahead. Don’t you think Dnipro will be somewhat complacent?
- No, I don’t. We always have very interesting games against them. Dnipro are a really good team. I don’t think they will lack motivation. That’s an important encounter both for them and for us, so we will fight a tough battle. Despite all that, we are very motivated.
- Could you name Dnipro’s strongest side?
- They are great teamwork wise, they excellently prove themselves in the league and Europa League alike. Dnipro look strong.
- Do you support Dnipro in the Europa League? What are the odds of Dnipropetrovsk making it past Napoli?
- For the image of the Ukrainian football it’s vital, as Dnipro represent the country. Of course we should root for Dnipropetrovsk and support them.
