Shakhtar vs Metalurh D: players’ opinion

The Pitmen have reflected on the victory in the Donetsk derby.

Alex Teixeira, Shakhtar’s midfielder:

- When scoring a quick goal, you feel more or less calm. I think in today's match two goals were key to the game. But it does not say that the game was easy. It is good that we have achieved just such a result. Moreover, the season is coming to an end, we're all a little tired, and it affects the match. Of course, I am pleased that I was named the best, but I want to say that today the whole team showed good football. Unfortunately, we failed to win the Ukrainian league, but I will do my best to be the best scorer in this year.  

Anton Kanibolotskiy, Shakhtar’s goalkeeper:

- It's nice to keep clean sheet on one’s birthday. Earlier in the day, Mister told me that I would take to the pitch! In the first round, we lost to Metalurh D due to the fact that they had more enthusiasm and success. Today the opponent did not want to attack; Metalurh were trying to get to the penalty box through many corners. But we know how to behave in these situations; so we coped with its task and did not allow Metalurh to create something. There were not many attacks in our final third, though a set piece from the edge of the penalty area forced me to trouble. Of course, it is a pity that not so many fans come to the stadium as we would like. If there were more viewers, there would be a certain atmosphere. But in any case, thanks to those who support the team. For us, it is very important and pleasant.  

Taison, Shakhtar’s midfielder:

- Today, Metalurh were strong, as in the first match. But, fortunately, this time it was Shakhtar who won. We always play to win; in the previous match against Metalurh we were not lucky. Today I made an assist - it is the result of training. I interplay well Alex, Douglas, so it is developed a reflex. I am glad that Alex managed to score twice today, we, in turn, help him become the top scorer!

FC Shakhtar
