On March 27, Shakhtar will play a friendly match with AEL from the Cypriot city of Limassol. We are getting you acquainted closer with our opponents.
This club was founded in 1930. One can say that it has become one of the progenitors of professional football in Cyprus. AEL and seven other teams founded the Division A.
AEL are considered to be a top team in their domestic league. They have registered six league titles, six Cups and three Super Cup trophies.
They are now sitting in seventh place in the standings. They have 22 points after 30 minutes.
The team play their home matches at the Tsirion Stadium, which holds a little more than 13 thousand seats.
Head coach - Christakis Christoforou. He has been in charge of the team since November 2014. Earlier, this coach headed a Cyprus club Apollon.
