On 14 March, Shakhtar U-21 will face Olimpik on Matchday 17 of the U-21 championship. The Donetsk derby will take place in Kopyly, Poltava Oblast. The game will kick off at 13:00.

On 16 Matchday, in the final minutes of the match, the Pitmen were denied an opportunity to win in the game with Metalist Kharkiv. Olimpik, in turn, suffered a big 8-1 defeat at the hands of Dynamo.

As of now, the Pitmen are sitting in 3rd place with 30 points, scoring 34 and conceding 18 goals. Their opponents are occupying 13th place with 9 points, scoring 16 and conceding 50 goals.

The Pitmen’s midfielder Vyacheslav Tankovskyi has talked about the upcoming game:

- We expect a very difficult match. We remember that in the first half of the championship we played out a 1:1 draw, and scored in the end of the game. We will try to show our football, control the game, close down the opponents in order not to allow them to create chances. And, of course, we want to win very much to make up for a ridiculous draw in the last round with Metalist. We analysed the match, our errors, and now we are gearing up for the Olimpik game.
